Bringing forward Master's modules in the subject of German Studies
The following information only applies to bringing forward Master's modules in the subject of German Studies/German!
If you would like to bring forward modules in another subject, please get in touch with the contact person responsible for that subject!(Link to the educational sciences)
Are you still in the Bachelor's programme and would like to bring forward Master's modules in German Studies/German? Then please proceed as follows and note the following:
- According to the examination regulations for M.Ed degree programmes, Master's modules may only be brought forward if at least 120 CP have been earned in the Bachelor's degree programme and all basic modules have been successfully completed.
The following applies to the master's degree programme M.A. German Studies and the master's degree programme M.A. DaF/DaZ: at least 120 CP must have been earned in the BA and the Bachelor's thesis must have been completed in the subject in which the Master's modules are to be brought forward, see § 9 of the General Examination Regulations. Part of the Master's degree examination regulations for the FK III master's degree programmes (in principle, the requirements according to the examination regulations applicable to you apply!).
Note for students who would like to bring forward the internship or the research and development internship in the M.Ed. Gym: Please note that they must also obtain the approval of the module coordinators by email before submitting their application to the Examinations Office. For German Studies, this is Prof Dr Katrin Kleinschmidt-Schinke.
- The examination regulations also stipulate that no more than 30 CP Master's modules may be brought forward in the Bachelor's programme.(An overview of the examination regulations can be found here).
- Students already enrolled in the Master's degree programmes have priority when registering for courses. For this reason, you cannot enrol in the Master's modules yourself.
- You must send your proposal to bring modules forward to the Examinations Office in step 1. (The proposal does not have to be signed by the module coordinator). Please note: If you would like to bring forward the specialist internship and/or the FeP, you must also obtain the approval of the module coordinator beforehand!
Please only use the current form for the application, which you can find at the following link and here under "Forms and templates": uol.de/studiengang/pruefungen/germanistik-2f-bachelor-9
- As soon as you have received notification from the Examinations Office that the Chair of the Examination Board has approved your proposal, please send this notification together with your proposal (!) to the . Important: The proposal must be submitted in good time so that you receive the notification in the second week of the course at the latest and can submit it to the office together with the proposal! Ideally, the notification should be available before the start of the course.
- In your email to the office, please list the events you would like to attend in priority order with the event number, title and organiser. Without this information, you will not be able to register even if places are available. Please also state your Stud.IP name.
- If there are still places available in your desired Master's module seminars after all regularly enrolled students in the Master's programme have been catered for (see point 8), you will be added to the list if you provide all the information listed under 6.
- As regularly enrolled Master's students have priority when registering for courses, it will not be clear until mid-March at the earliest , but more likely from the beginning of April or possibly not until the first or second week of the course, whether a place is available for you. Subsequent bookings can only be made then. Please be patient until then.
You may only take part in the course you wish to bring forward if you have been registered in Stud.IP! You will only be registered if you have received a positive notification from the Examinations Office. As a rule, it is no longer possible to join courses after the second week. Therefore, please take care of the application in good time!
