Students on the adaptation programme
Students on the adaptation programme
Registration for courses / cases of hardship
Important advance notice: From winter semester 25/26, students on the adaptation programme must register for courses themselves.
- To register for courses in winter semester 25/26, please take part in the priority lottery procedure, which is described in detail here: https://uol.de/germanistik/lehrveranstaltungen-germanistik-anmeldeverfahren/das-anmeldeverfahren-was-muss-ich-wann-wie-tun. We will announce the deadlines for enrolment via this link and via the German Studies listserver (see below).
- Further information on the registration procedure, e.g. on how to deal with waiting lists, can be found at the following link: https://uol.de/germanistik/lehrveranstaltungen-germanistik-anmeldeverfahren.
- New (added/amended on 19/08/2025): All students on the adaptation programme fall under the hardship provision. This means that you will automatically be added to a hardship list, which will be added to the registration process and which will significantly increase your chances of being accepted onto your Priority 1 course. However, due to the large number of German Studies students, we cannot guarantee that you will receive priority 1. Therefore, please include all courses of a module that do not overlap with other university courses in your priority list.
Curricular sequence
The sequence of the curriculum also applies to students on the bridging course.
So, for example, if you have been required to catch up on the modules ger242 Linguistic and Literary Socialisation (for primary education) and ger800 Subject Didactics with a subject-specific component, you must complete the ger242 module in your first semester at the University of Oldenburg. Only then, i.e. in the following winter semester, may you study the module ger800.
In other words: successful completion of ger242 is a prerequisite for taking ger800.
Please note that the ger800 module is only offered in the winter semester!
