Medieval Studies in the basic modules ger010 and ger020
Medieval Studies in the basic modules ger010 and ger020
In the core module ger010 ‘Language and Culture’, Medieval Studies is represented in the lecture series by two courses focusing on the history of language. The final written examination includes a section on Medieval Studies.
In the core module ger020 ‘Literature and Culture’, the lecture provides an initial introduction to key topics in medieval studies within the fields of literary and cultural studies. In the final exam, questions on medieval studies account for around a third of the marks.
In addition, where possible, we also offer a seminar on medieval studies as part of the ger020 foundation module during the summer semester. You do not need to have learnt Middle High German for this yet; instead, we work with translations.
