Students must complete 30 credit points from the German Studies programme at Bachelor’s level as follows:
a) The 3 core modules
- ger010
- ger020
- ger033.
In the M.Ed. programme, 45 credit points must be taken from the German Studies course catalogue as follows:

b) 4 advanced modules:
The following must be completed:
1. The didactic advanced module: ger246
2. A literature-based advanced module: ger211 or ger221.
3. A linguistics advanced module: ger251 or ger261 or ger291
4. 1 advanced module from those not yet taken
Example of advanced module selection:
If the following choices were made under 1–3
1. ger246
2. ger211
3. ger251
then the following may be selected under 4:
ger 221 or ger261 or ger 271 or ger 281 or ger 291.
c) 2 Master’s modules
5. The didactic Master’s module: ger771 (prerequisite: ger246 must have been successfully completed).
Please note: As ger771 is only ever offered in the winter semester and the sequence of the curriculum must be followed, you should complete ger242 by the second Master’s semester at the latest.
6. 1 module, either ger880 or ger890 (please note the prerequisites as set out in the examination regulations)
