There is a particular focus on two clinical conditions: Parkinson’s disease and acute abdominal symptoms. Both represent very different approaches to diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. In collaboration with patients and specialists, new, digital and networked treatment pathways are to be developed, tested and evaluated.

The transformation of the healthcare system is not viewed solely from a technical perspective. It is understood as a social process involving many stakeholders: members of the public, towns and districts, health insurance funds, and the researchers involved in the project. Together, the aim is to develop new, innovative and needs-based forms of care.
