House hunting - A teaching experiment on hidden information

The experiment introduces the topic of information asymmetries with a special focus on hidden information.

The experiment is intended to illustrate the extent to which hiddeninformation can affect the decisions of the actors, how the use of search costs can help to mitigate information asymmetries and to what extent the rationality of the actors is limited as a result. The experiment can optionally be assigned to the subject areas "Consumer decisions of young people" (Year 8) or - in terms of transfer to structurally similar subject areas - to "Change in the world of work in a globalised society" (Year 11).
