2.1 Categories of personal data that are processed

Your data is protected against unauthorised access by uninvolved third parties. They are stored on an access-protected drive.
We may store the following data about you:

DiZ membership

• Contact details (name, title, email address)
• University affiliation data (status, School/Organisation, Institute, AG)
• Demographic data (gender)

DiZ school service

• Contact details (name, email address)
• Data on affiliation with an institution

Conferences (e.g. Pedagogical Week, School Management Conference)

• Contact details (name, title, email address, address, telephone number)
• Data on affiliation with an institution
• Demographic data (gender)
• We temporarily store your bank details for chargeable events.

2.2 Duration for which the personal data is stored

DiZ membership

• Data is stored until the end of membership or until the end of the employment contract.
• Membership can be cancelled informally by sending an email to .

DiZ school service

• Personal data is stored for a period of up to two years.
• After two years at the latest, you will be asked whether you wish to continue to give your consent to the use of your data.

Events

• Personal data will be stored for a maximum period of up to two years and only for as long as the processing of the data is required to fulfil the purpose.
• We only store your bank details required for a chargeable event temporarily. It will be deleted after the event has been billed.

You have the option to withdraw your data for the above-mentioned purposes at any time. All you need to do is send an email to

2.3 Purposes for which personal data is processed

Membership

• Your personal data is stored in order to inform you as a member about the opportunities for participation, rights and activities at the centre (e.g. elections, committees, conferences, calls for proposals, projects).

DiZ school service

• Your personal data will be stored in order to inform you about current school-related events at the University of Oldenburg (e.g. Pedagogical Week, School Management Conference, specialist days, series of lectures, student events, networking opportunities, discussion groups, project offers).

Events

• Your personal data will be stored in order to be able to communicate with you regarding registration, participation and, if applicable, settlement of an event.
• Any bank data collected from you for the purpose of debiting participation fees will be stored until the settlement of an event and deleted after the event has been invoiced.

2.4 Legal basis for the processing

Consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a. GDPR; the data protection officer at Carl von Ossietzky University will be happy to help you identify the applicable legal basis (see section 1.2.).

2.5 Provision of data

The provision of personal data is voluntary.

2.6 Consequences of not providing personal data

Failure to provide personal data has the following consequences:

Membership

• If you do not provide your personal data, you will not receive any information about activities at the centre.

DiZ school service

• If you do not provide your personal data, you will not receive any information about school-related events at the University of Oldenburg.

Events

• Without providing your personal data, you will not be able to participate in an event of the Centre for Teacher Education.

4 Your rights as a data subject

As a data subject affected by data processing, you have the following rights:

• You can request information about the personal data stored about you at any time and free of charge.
• If your personal data is incorrect, you can request that it be corrected at any time.
• You can request the deletion of your personal data at any time.
• You can request the restriction of the processing of your personal data at any time.
• You can object to the processing of your personal data at any time.
• You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and you have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data have been provided, where the processing is based on consent or on a contract and the processing is carried out by automated means (right to data portability).
• You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
