For the fourth time, students from the "Sport and Lifestyle" degree programme are organising a Master's Day. It gives interested parties an insight into the topics and career opportunities of the degree programme. The event will take place on Friday, 4 May 2012, 14:00 to 18:00, on the premises of the Institute of Sport Science (Haarentor campus, A6-001).
Sport in modern society has developed into a central element of lifestyle and is becoming increasingly important as an instrument of cultural, educational and health policy. As an interdisciplinary cross-sectional discipline, sport science offers the opportunity to examine sport-related lifestyles from both a social science and a natural science perspective. The Master's programme "Sport and Lifestyle" deals with social status, cultural interests and people's approach to the body and exercise. The subject master's day offers an insight into many topics relating to sport: in a lecture, Bernd Monsau, Head of Human Resources at the German Olympic Sports Confederation, will introduce his institution and provide an opportunity for discussion.
