Music, theatre, short films and much more were on offer at the uniFREI Campus Festival last weekend. Including: the Oldenburg university theatre OUT, the student cinema Gegenlicht and campus radio OL.

It's OUT's birthday: the student theatre initiative has been putting on up to five theatre productions per semester on the Unikum student union stage for 25 years. To celebrate this in style, the Studentenwerk's cultural office is expanding the annual summer festival "OUT all night" into the campus culture festival uniFrei this year.

On Friday, 28 July and Saturday, 29 July, a varied cultural programme will be offered from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. - alternating every hour on the two stages of the Unikum and on an open-air stage on the forecourt of the Unikum.

The OUT presents a selection of short plays and sketches, readings and improv theatre. On Saturday evening, a "Lip Sync Battle" - a kind of mini-playback for adults - is on the programme at the end of the festival. The student cinema Gegenlicht is dedicated to short films: there will be animated, comedy, documentaries and something for the heart.

Outside on the campus radio stage, local bands will provide the atmosphere: headliners are the alternative rock band Lighthouse Down and the band Mantis, whose music combines indie and singer-songwriter elements. Also on the bill: Oldenburg songwriter Lukas Plöhn, acoustic rock from Mother & Son and Rana Arborea from Friesland, who will be bringing medieval sounds to the stage.

Culinary variety is provided by a food truck and numerous food and drink stalls. Admission is free.
