The renowned director Christian Petzold will be a guest of the "Audiovisual Film Studies" seminar at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture at the University of Oldenburg on Friday, 18 July.
Petzold, who received the Silver Bear at the 2012 Berlinale for his film "Barbara", will be showing his film "Yella" at 7.00 pm in room A8 0-001 and then discussing his video essays with students. Petzold's best-known works include "Wolfsburg" (2003), "Ghosts" (2005) and "Jerichow" (2008).
The students' video essays were created in the "Audiovisual Film Studies" seminar taught by screenplay editor Michael Baute at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture. Baute took Petzold's "Yella" as the starting point for the video essays, each of which interprets and analyses the film in a different way.
