The Repair Café will take place for the first time on Saturday, 12 July, from 10.00 to 14.00 in the Green School of the Botanical Garden at the University of Oldenburg.
This time there will be an opportunity to get broken hand and garden tools in need of repair back into shape and have blunt knives sharpened. A volunteer team of "repairers" will be on hand to provide advice, assistance and expert guidance. The professionals provide the know-how so that participants can carry out repairs independently in future.
In workshops, interested parties learn how to make paper from nettles or how to make tea and herbal sweets from local herbs. Wurzelwerk, the open community garden in Oldenburg, offers an information stand on the topics of compost and raised beds. A guided tour of the Botanical Garden at 11.30 a.m. rounds off the programme.
