They are all smiling at the camera. The trainees are holding various objects in their hands, for example a pair of pliers, a book with administrative regulations, a lamp or a laboratory flask.

At the beginning of the month, 15 young people started their training at the university. The spectrum of training professions is broad - ranging from administration to trades and IT.

"We are one of the largest employers in the region and now offer exciting training prospects in 13 professional fields - for example in technology, administration and skilled trades," said Meik Möllers, Head of Division 4: Facility management, at the official introduction of the apprentices. Starting a career is one of the most important steps for young people and young adults. "That's why we attach great importance to a varied and well-founded training programme that prepares young people for the future," Möllers continued. The university is looking forward to supporting the new apprentices in the workshops, laboratories and offices. In doing so, it is also making an important contribution to alleviating the shortage of skilled labour.

This year, two IT specialists, two precision mechanics, two chemical laboratory technicians, three administrative assistants and three electronics technicians for devices and systems are starting their training. The university is also training an animal keeper, a gardener and an event technician.
