University invites you to Career Day

Thesis, application, interview: the transition from studies to academic appointment takes centre stage at the University of Oldenburg's Career Day. The job and internship fair will take place on Tuesday, 10 May.

Thesis, application, job interview: the transition from studies to academic appointment will once again take centre stage at the University of Oldenburg's seventh Career Day. The job and internship fair will take place on Tuesday, 10 May, from 10:00 to 15:00 in the Lecture Hall Centre (Building A14, Uhlhornsweg 86).

Under the motto "Attracting subjects and managers to the region", representatives from 37 regional and national companies will introduce themselves as potential employers for students and graduates in personal talks and keynote speeches. In addition, experts will provide plenty of tips on job searches and applications.

At the exhibition stands in the foyer, interested parties can find out about the companies, their structure and possible career opportunities and make initial contact with HR managers. Companies from IT and telecommunications, management consultancy, law, tax and examination systems, energy, water supply and waste management, banking and insurance as well as trade and sales will be represented.

A series of presentations will begin at 10.00 a.m. in room 0-030: To kick things off, Svea Rodel from the Oldenburg-Wilhelmshaven Employment Agency will give an overview of the regional labour market and career prospects in the northwest. During the course of the day, visitors can also find out how to find a job that suits them and what makes a successful application in four other presentations. In the presentation "Business small talk for career starters", they will learn how best to start a conversation and become a successful networker. HR experts will also be offering a free application portfolio check. After prior online registration, interested parties can have professional application photos taken at a trade fair price.

In addition to companies from various sectors, the Employment Agency, the Start-up and Innovation Centre (GIZ) and the university's International Alumni Programme will also have stands at the fair. As the organiser, the Career Service will be presenting its "International Career Prospects" project. Admission to the Career Day is free.
