For the third time in a row, Team UNIted won the challenge cup for the largest company team. The runners were also fast: they took several first and third places - as well as second place in the overall standings.

85 people - ten more than last year - took part in the 22nd Everstener Brunnenlauf company run on behalf of the university. Team UNIted once again took the title of largest company team. The group was also the second-fastest - the four fastest participants were included in the ranking. Three runners also started for the team in the 10km fun run.

The athletes were also extremely successful in the individual rankings: Jule Froehlich from the Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences achieved first place in the overall women's ranking over the 10-kilometre course. Laura Schmidt from the Department of Health Services Research ran to third place in the women's 6.3 kilometre race, and her colleague Jan Hendrik Röhl took first place in the M35 age group.

Maren Striebel from the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment, who ran with her partner and two children in baby carriers (walking), and the oldest participant in the team Hans-Peter Schmidtke, emeritus professor of Intercultural Pedagogy, who came third in the 80+ age group, earned a huge round of applause.

Under the name UNIted, university lecturers and employees from science, technology and administration have regularly competed together in the Eversten Fountain Run since 2012. University President Prof Dr Ralph Bruder also took part again this year. The team won the title for the largest team for the fifth time.

Anyone interested in defending the challenge cup next year: Anyone who enjoys running is invited to join Team UNIted. Further information can be found in the StudIP group of the same name.
