Join us for the OLTECH Doctoral Day 2026, a dynamic day of networking, inspiration, and professional development. This year’s event brings together doctoral candidates from different disciplines and stages of their doctoral journey.
You can look forward to a varied networking and professional-development programme, including keynote talks, science speed-dating and breakout sessions.

3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Session
Would you like to present your research at the OLTECH Doctoral Day? In the 3MT sessions, you will have three minutes and one slide to introduce your research to an interdisciplinary audience.
For our Doctoral Day, you can choose between two presentation formats. Both formats follow the same basic 3MT principle — one speaker, three minutes, one slide — but they differ in style and emphasis:
| Format | What it means | Best if you want to… |
Scientific 3MT | A concise, clear research pitch in a more conventional academic style. Focus on the research question, approach, key finding or expected contribution, and why the work matters. The talk should still be understandable to researchers outside your immediate field.
| practise presenting your project clearly and professionally to an interdisciplinary scientific audience.

Science Slam style 3MT | A more entertaining and audience-oriented version of the same three-minute research presentation. You may use storytelling, humour, analogies or surprising examples to make the research accessible and memorable, while keeping the scientific content accurate.
| experiment with creative science communication and engage a broad audience.

What is expected?
→ You do not need to have final results to participate.
→ You may present the design, ongoing project, a methodological idea, a central research question, or selected findings or even negative/null results.
