Prevention / Cancellation: If you are prevented from attending a workshop, please cancel your registration by email, as it is technically not possible to unsubscribe on your own. This is the only way to enable people on the waiting list to move up.

  • Gruppensprechstunde zu Möglichkeiten zur Finanzierung der Postdoc-Phase - 31 August 2026, 11-12h

    Das Team der Forschungsförderung bietet eine offene Gruppensprechstunde an. Das Treffen in einer kleinen Gruppe gibt Ihnen die Möglichkeit, Ihre Fragen und Ideen individuell mit uns zu besprechen. Es geht speziell um Möglichkeiten zur Finanzierung der Postdoc-Phase. Die Teilnehmendenzahl ist begrenzt.

  • Career Insights Online event - "Transitioning from Academia to Industry: A Career Path in Biotechnology" - 18 September, 2026 at 14:00 - 15:30, online

    Guest:   Dr. Cedric Hahn 
    After completing his PhD in Marine Microbiology in 2021, Cedric transitioned into the biotechnology industry by joining Biocartis as a Product Specialist. This technical position served as a natural stepping stone into sales and account management, eventually leading to his current role as Director of Strategic Accounts. In this capacity, Cedric merges his strong background in molecular biology with strategic business management to advance ultra-rapid oncology diagnostics across the Western United States. Managing relationships across a large territory, he frequently travels to collaborate with clinical laboratories and healthcare partners. Cedric looks forward to sharing his experiences navigating the shift from academia to industry and discussing how to leverage a scientific background for a successful corporate career.

Announcements

New OLTECH regulations

The new OLTECH regulations and the associated “OLTECH Basic curriculum” have officially come into effect as of 09 July 2026, following publication in the Official Announcements No. 2026-025 (https://uol.de/amtliche-mitteilungen ). 

The updated OLTECH regulations for the doctoral degree programme Neurosensory Science and Systems have also officially come into effect as of 09 July 2026, following publication in the Official Announcements No. 2026-026; 2026-027 (https://uol.de/amtliche-mitteilungen ).

    The Graduate Academy is the university's central interdisciplinary institution for the career development of doctoral candidates, postdocs and junior professors.

    With the programme english+ the Graduate Academy offers a comprehensive programme covering all aspects of scientific communication in English language for all early-career researchers of the University of Oldenburg.
