Dr Ian Campbell, from the University of Montpellier, visited the "Computational Theoretical Physics" working group of Prof. Dr Alexander Hartmann from 3 to 5 July 2008. In 1970, Campbell supervised the 2007 Nobel Prize winner Albert Fert as his doctoral supervisor.
The visit was based on their work on a joint research project. In addition, Campbell gave a lecture on the historical development of research into the conductivity of metals in the lecture "From Ohm's Law to the Nobel Prize historical perspectives and historical discoveries".
