"Engineering Physics" reaccredited and awarded the EUR-ACE label
The commission's report particularly recognised the "positive mood" of the students "towards their choice of university and degree programme". The almost unique thematic orientation in the field of natural sciences and engineering as well as the subject diversity and good contact with the teaching staff convinced the group of experts.
The EUR-ACE® label was awarded for the first time to degree programmes in Subject Committee 13 (Physics). This once again highlighted the special nature of the Engineering Physics degree programmes as a symbiosis between purely scientific and engineering studies. The EUR-ACE® label contributes to reducing barriers to mobility in the European Higher Education Area by certifying a clearly expected competence profile for graduates of degree programmes certified in this way.
Proof of the good development of the international Engineering Physics degree programme is the high number of enquiries from prospective students from all over the world. The 321 graduates from 39 countries have been impressed by the physics and mathematics-based basic education with a direct application link to industry-related research and development in the fields of Laser & Optics, Biomedical Physics, Sound & Vibration, Material Science and Renewable Energy. The close links to research and development institutions ensure that almost every graduate can conclude an employment contract upon completion of their final thesis.
