ForWind at Hannover Messe
ForWind presents innovations at Hannover Messe
The University of Oldenburg will be represented with three exhibits on wind energy at the Hannover Messe from 21 to 25 April 2008 at the joint stand of the State of Lower Saxony (Hall 13, Stand E30). ForWind, the centre for wind energy research at the Universities of Oldenburg and Hanover, will be presenting a new type of spherical anemometer, a wear-free device for measuring wind in atmospheric currents, which simultaneously records the wind direction and speed. An innovative method for the dynamic determination of so-called performance curves of wind turbines, which are of central importance both for certification and for yield forecasts, will also be presented. Information will also be provided on the distance learning programme "Wind Energy Technology and Management", which is unique in Germany and is aimed at subjects and managers in the industry and interested career changers. It provides practical, interdisciplinary basic knowledge in the fields of natural sciences, technology, business administration, law, planning and project management.
