Places still available at the physics workshop

The theory of relativity is the topic of a workshop being offered by the Institute of Physics in cooperation with the Cäcilienschule on 16 and 17 January 2009 at the University of Oldenburg's science campus in Wechloy. The workshop is aimed at grammar school pupils from the region from Year 10 upwards. Registrations are still possible until Wednesday, 14 January 2009:

The physics workshop led by Dr Ludger Hannibal, which is being offered for the seventh time, aims to provide an insight into modern physics beyond the traditional school curriculum and encourage students to study physics later on. The young researchers can look forward to a varied programme with work in small groups, theory and experiments as well as two colloquia with Prof. Dr Andreas Engel (Oldenburg) and PD Dr Claus Lämmerzahl (Bremen). Supervision will be provided by student teachers from the Institute of Physics who have prepared for this task as part of their degree programme.

The project is supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg. Participation, including materials, magazines and catering, is free of charge.
