800 pupils attend Physics and Maths Day

More than 800 pupils and their teachers from across the north-west region took up the opportunity offered by the University of Oldenburg today, Wednesday 5 November 2008, to find out about degree programmes in the subjects of mathematics and physics. The ‘Physics Day’ and ‘Mathematics Day’ were held jointly for the eighth time.
A total of 15 pupils who had taken part in the 2008 research project competition received book prizes donated by academic publishers.The Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Physics demonstrated, through specialist talks, experience reports, experiments and a poster exhibition, that these subjects are attractive, enjoyable and offer excellent career prospects.
