Prof. Dr. Carsten Agert, Director of the EWE research centre NEXT ENERGY, the new Institute affiliated to the University of Oldenburg, has been elected Vice President of the EUREC Agency. EUREC stands for European Renewable Energy Centres and is an association of European research institutions for the use of renewable energy sources. The agency was founded in 1991 with the aim of improving and expanding the quality and areas of application of renewable energy sources. 43 research institutions from all over Europe currently make up the EUREC Agency, which is based in Brussels and promotes the networking of research, science and interest groups.
