A total of three scholarships are awarded to newly enrolled students of the subject Bachelor of Physics in the form of employment remuneration as "student assistants".

The scholarship finances the tuition fees (500 euros) for a period of four semesters. During this period, the student assistant will work in one of the three research groups (Energy and Semiconductor Research, Medical Physics and Ultrafast Nano-Optics). This employment in the respective working group amounts to 10.5 hours per month and depends on the interests and abilities of the student (e.g. collaboration on measurements with research equipment, software development, documentation of research results, literature work).

Interested students can apply at the same time as their enrolment if possible, but it is not a prerequisite for participation in the selection procedure. A letter of motivation, a copy of your school leaving certificate and any other evidence of relevant experience or activities are sufficient for the application. Enrolment in the subject Bachelor of Physics at the University of Oldenburg is only required at the beginning of the work as a student assistant.
