A total of three scholarships will be awarded to newly enrolled students on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Physics in the form of remuneration for work as a ‘student assistant’.

The scholarship covers tuition fees (500 euros) for a period of four semesters. During this period, students will undertake work as a student assistant in one of the three research groups (Energy and Semiconductor Research, Medical Physics and Ultrafast Nano-Optics). This work in the respective research group amounts to 10.5 hours per month and is tailored to the student’s interests and skills (e.g. assisting with measurements using research equipment, software development, documenting research results, literature review).

Those interested are encouraged to apply at the same time as they enrol, although this is not a prerequisite for taking part in the selection procedure. To apply, simply submit a letter of motivation, a copy of your Abitur certificate and any further evidence of relevant experience or activities. Enrolment on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Physics at the University of Oldenburg is only required once you have commenced work as a student assistant.
