More than 250 participants from Germany and abroad are expected to attend the annual conference of the Society for the Didactics of Chemistry and Physics (GDCP). The conference, which will take place in Oldenburg from 19 to 22 September, is entitled "Concepts of didactic structuring for teaching" and is being jointly organised by the Chemistry Didactics (Head: Dr Julia Michaelis) and Physics Didactics (Head: Prof. Dr Michael Komorek).

Topics include planning and reflecting on teaching in the STEM subjects, the training of science teachers in the BA/MA system, concepts for lesson design and the question of how scientific findings can effectively improve school practice and teacher training. Lower Saxony's Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, Dr Bernd Althusmann, is expected to attend the opening.
