Christoph Lienau receives award from the Optical Society of America
Oldenburg. Oldenburg physicist Prof Dr Christoph Lienau, head of the "Ultrafast Nano-Optics" working group and Director of the Institute of Physics at the University of Oldenburg, has been named a Fellow of the Optical Society of America. He received the honour at the Conference on Lasers and Optoelectronics, the world's largest optics conference in San José (USA). The Optical Society of America awards this honour annually for special achievements in the field of optics and photonics. Lienau receives it for his outstanding contributions to ultrafast optics, near-field optics and plasmonics. The physicist's research group develops and utilises state-of-the-art spectroscopy and microscopy techniques with extremely high time resolution to track and clarify how electrons move in complex nanostructures.
Donna T. Strickland, President of the Optical Society of America, presents Prof Dr Christoph Lienau with the award.
