Technical paper competition for the Day of Physics
Technical paper competition for the Day of Physics
13 winners in the Physics Day competition
Once again this year, numerous specialist papers with a physics flavour, which were written in the seminar subject, were honoured. The jury, chaired by Michael Komorek (left), Professor of Physics Didactics, awarded eleven second prizes and two first prizes. Prizes were awarded above all to work that demonstrated great independence or had an experimental element. The two first prizes were awarded to such works, each of which was presented by the authors themselves in a short talk: Peter Schneckenberger (back row, 2nd from right) from Gymnasium Marianum in Meppen used a great deal of experimental effort to investigate the contactless charging of devices such as pacemakers. Arne Schütte (back row, 1st from right) experimented with the energy efficiency of ships in relation to the waves they generate. The Institute honoured all the work with a certificate and a book prize. Professor Komorek invited all the pupils and teachers present to submit physics projects again next year and not to shy away from experimental work.
