Oldenburg physicists take part in the IdeenExpo
Oldenburg. The University of Oldenburg is taking part in the IdeenExpo in Hanover. The exhibition takes place from 24 August to 1 September and aims to awaken the spirit of research in children, teenagers and young adults in the fields of science and technology.
The university is represented at the IdeenExpo with three workshops. On Tuesday, 27 August, Oldenburg biologist and neurosensory expert Prof. Dr Henrik Mouritsen will discuss the question "How do migratory birds orientate themselves?". In his lecture, he will present current research findings from molecular biology, neurobiology and chemistry and provide insights into his field research. On the same day, Oldenburg physicist Prof Dr Andreas Engel will discuss the question "Is it possible to live on the moon?". One day later, on Wednesday 28 August, Thomas Greve (Institute of Physics) and Michael Röhrdanz (Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences) will explain how biochar is made from residual and waste materials and present the hydrothermal carbonisation process. Admission to the IdeenExpo is free.
