Our new PPRE students explored Northern Germany’s wind energy sites on the annual Wind Tour, gaining hands-on insight into turbine technology and real-world renewable energy operations.
The latest cohort of Postgraduate Programme in Renewable Energy (PPRE) students had the opportunity to participate in the annual Wind Tour, visiting wind farms across Northern Germany.
During the tour, students learned about turbine design, operation, and maintenance, and even had the chance to climb inside a wind turbine for a unique perspective on energy generation. The day provided an inspiring, hands-on experience, highlighting the practical applications of renewable energy technologies and demonstrating the scale and impact of modern wind energy infrastructure.
This excursion exemplifies the program’s commitment to combining theoretical knowledge with real-world exposure, preparing students to contribute effectively to the global energy transition
