ForWind scientists Detlev Heinemann and Björn Witha work on determining and predicting wind flows for wind farms or larger regions. Thanks to such forecasts, amongst others, experts are constantly getting better at calculating wind yields.

Turbulence is a permanent state for wind turbines, says ForWind scientist Joachim Peinke. He uses mathematical methods to describe the small-scale fluctuations of the wind and how these depend on large-scale flows.
