Two of the modules spo115, spo125, spo145 and spo150 must be taken in the Bachelor's programme. The other content areas are taken in the Master's programme.
spo115 - Specialised in sport and education
Objectives of the module / competences:
Thematic introduction to the subject area of sport science with a focus on sport and education. Acquisition of methodological skills for planning and developing questions and research projects in the subject areas of school sport research.
Module content:
Methodological foundations of school sport research (lecture/compulsory).
Fundamentals of communication, cultural education, gender in sport
Fundamentals of scientific work
Fundamentals of didactic and educational topics in sport science
(2 elective seminars)
spo125 - Exercise and sport science
Objectives of the module / competences:
Thematic introduction to the subject area of sport and exercise science. Preparation for scientific work in the areas mentioned.
Module content:
- Fundamentals of quantitative research methodology in sport (lecture)
- Fundamentals of sport motor skills (compulsory seminar)
- Fundamentals of sport psychology or the neuroscience of sport (optional seminar)
spo145 - Specialised sociology and sociology of sport
Objectives of the module / competences:
Introduction to historical-sociological thinking and central sociological concepts and theories of social order formation in sport
Competences:
Methods of social science work; research and critical reception of specialist literature; independent conceptualisation and implementation of sport sociological studies; subject-related factual, interpretative, reflective, argumentation and communication skills
Module content:
- Fundamentals of a (cultural) sociology of sport, the body and movement
- Reflection on the theory-empiricism and theory-practice relationship
- Fundamentals of social science research methodology
- Emergence, reproduction and transformation of social order in and through sport
- Techniques of subjectivation in and through sport
- Sociological perspectives on learning, education and socialisation taking into account fundamental social differentiations (social class, gender, ethnicity etc.))

spo150 - Specialised sport and training
Module objectives / competences:
Students receive a structured overview of the subject areas of training science and training theory. Building on basic anatomical and physiological knowledge, they learn about and apply the content and methods of sports training. They develop skills for the scientifically sound planning, implementation and evaluation of exercise and training measures with the aim of increasing, stabilising or specifically reducing athletic performance or promoting health-relevant resources. Different age and target groups are addressed in school and extracurricular fields of application.

spo155 - Learning and analysing
Objectives of the module / competences:
- Competences for reflecting on movement and one's own movement biography in the content areas "Running, jumping, throwing" and "Gymnastics and movement arts"
- Competences for target group-specific, theory-based staging, implementation and evaluation of teaching/learning processes
- Knowledge of procedures for analysing and diagnosing coordinative and conditional abilities as well as motor skills
- Knowledge of various methodological approaches in teaching the sports and movement fields
- Skills for demonstrating the movement forms and skills of the sports and movement fields of the content areas
Module content:
In the seminars of the module, the content of the fields of running, jumping, throwing, gymnastics and movement arts is dealt with practically and theoretically. Basic and sport-specific skills and abilities are learnt and deepened in learning/exercise and training situations. The content is reflected on from a didactic and methodological perspective and serves as a basis for the
development and exemplary testing of teaching/learning situations.
