With its "Welcome to Africa" programme, which is funded by the BMBF over a period of three years, the DAAD gives German universities the opportunity to establish new contacts with African universities and to expand existing contacts and scientific exchange in both directions. One focus is the secondment of German students, graduates and young researchers to study or research stays at African universities in order to gain a better understanding of African research topics.
