Linking Word 2016 with Citavi

On this page we explain what to do if you already use Citavi and then install Word 2016 or Office 2016 later on. To use Citavi with Office 2016, you need Citavi version 5.1 or later. You can download the latest version from the Citavi website: (www.citavi.com/download).

To use the Citavi Add-In in Word 2016, you need to follow a few steps, which are described in the Citavi Forum as follows:

  1. Go to the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Select ‘Uninstall a program’
  3. Select ‘Citavi 5’
  4. Click on ‘Change’. The Citavi Setup Wizard will start.
  5. Click on ‘Next’.
  6. Select ‘Change program’ and click ‘Next’.
  7. For the Word Add-In, select – after clicking on the hard drive icon – ‘This feature will not be available’. Click ‘Next’ and continue the installation process until it is finished.
  8. Repeat steps 4-7, but this time select ‘Install this feature on a local hard drive’.

 
 The Word Add-In should then also appear under Office 2016.
