About us
School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences, comprises the departments of Human Medicine, Medical Physics and Acoustics, Neurosciences, Psychology and Health Services Research. Together with the four regional hospitals, School V forms University Medicine Oldenburg. There is also close collaboration with the University Medical Centre at the University of Groningen.

The Department of General Practice is responsible for teaching general practice within the degree programmes in Human Medicine and Health Services Research at the University of Oldenburg. In addition to the teaching modules on the Medical Campus, this also includes clinical shadowing, the block lab course and the final year clinical rotation within the network of general practice teaching practices. This network currently comprises just under 230 general practices from across the north-west and is continuously being expanded and maintained.


Your responsibilities

  • Organising and coordinating general practice internships in the teaching practices (clinical shadowing, block lab course, elective tertial of the Practical Year)
  • Digital allocation and administration of students to teaching practices via an IT-supported system
  • Independent supervision of and communication with students and teaching practices within the framework of the aforementioned placements
  • Maintenance and further development of the project database and associated documentation
  • Managing and maintaining the network of general practice teaching practices
  • Participation in and organisational support for training and continuing professional development sessions for teaching practices
  • Preparation and updating of training and information materials on the organisational procedures for general practice internships
  • Monitoring and oversight of financial units
  • Auditing and managing financial transactions relating to teaching practices
  • Support in the preparation, administration and maintenance of contracts with teaching practices
  • Support in organising and running events for the Department of General Practice
  • Co-ordinating meetings
  • and other general administrative and secretarial duties


Your profile

Entry requirements:

  • Completed vocational training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) in the administrative or office sector, or a completed qualification with proven professional experience of several years in the administrative or office sector
  • Experience in using standard Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • A structured, independent and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Very good written and spoken German language skills

The following would be an advantage:

  • Experience in areas of public administration
  • Experience in organising events
  • A passion for communication and networking
  • Ability to work as part of a team
