Programme for excellence
As part of the "Strategically Developing Potential" programme, the largest funding initiative in the history of the state of Lower Saxony, the University of Oldenburg will receive a total of 22.5 million euros in funding until 2030. Of this 22.5 million euros, almost 4 million euros are earmarked for the further internationalisation of the university, in particular for the further expansion of cooperation with the University of Groningen. University of Groningen visits its alliance partners
A delegation from the University of Groningen has visited its German partner universities in the Northwest Alliance. The programme included a visit to the new clusters of excellence "NaviSense" and "The Mars Perspective".
President Prof Dr Jouke de Vries visited the two German universities of the Northwest Alliance, of which the University of Groningen is a privileged partner, together with deans. Read more
Annual Board Meeting UOL - RUG
Five years ago, the universities of Oldenburg and Groningen renewed their then 40-year strategic partnership and adopted the ‘Roadmap’. Partners from Oldenburg and Groningen sign cooperation agreement
The partners of the Cross-Border Institute of Healthcare Systems and Prevention (CBI) have signed a cooperation agreement in Oldenburg that will ensure the sustainable development of cross-border healthcare research at the CBI. Read more
Strengthening the north-west region through a joint research and transfer area
On 31 January 2025, the universities of Bremen and Oldenburg laid the foundation stone for the Northwest Alliance - a strategic partnership that aims to develop northwest Germany into a leading science and innovation region. Read more
