About us
Vocational and Business Education (BWP) has existed at the University of Oldenburg since 1974. BWP acts as an integrative discipline in vocational education and subject didactics and is responsible for teaching the two subjects "Vocational and Business Education" and "Business Didactics".
Study programme
The Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Vocational and Business Education are staged. The Bachelor's degree programme in Business and Economics with a focus on vocational education gives graduates the opportunity to subsequently
- start a career directly or
- take up a specialised Master's degree programme or
- complete a teaching-related Master's degree programme [degree: Master of Education (Business Education)]
Successful completion of the Master of Education (Business Education) enables graduates to enter the preparatory service for the teaching profession at vocational schools.
Research
At the centre of the research focus of Vocational and Business Education is the description, explanation and design of formal and informal teaching, learning and qualification processes.
This takes place in particular in vocational training, company, external and inter-company as well as university contexts. The Department of Vocational and Business Education focuses on: epistemic convictions, vocational education for sustainable development, learning tasks as well as competence development and assessment.
