Further education in mediation and conflict management

Whether in families, companies or other areas of society - many conflicts can be resolved quickly and amicably with the help of mediation. A part-time further education course on this out-of-court procedure starts in November at the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg. Interested parties can apply for the contact study programme "Mediation and Systemic Conflict Management" until the end of August.

The postgraduate programme is aimed at subjects and managers who wish to acquire skills in dealing with conflicts and mediative leadership styles. It also qualifies students to work as freelance mediators. The four-semester contact study programme concludes with a university certificate and complies with the training regulations for certified mediators (RVO). Multiple certification with recognised professional associations is also possible.

Mediators support the parties involved in understanding the conflict and finding viable solutions. For these tasks, not only theory and methodology are taught in the interdisciplinary further education programme. The contact study programme under the academic direction of Dr Joseph Rieforth also includes elements of self-awareness, practical supervision, individual coaching as well as networking and alumni events.
