14 fire service instructors from Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia have undergone further training at the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning and obtained a university certificate: from September 2017 to April 2018, they studied learning theories, didactic models, planning and designing action-oriented learning units, their professional self-image as practical instructors, media use, moderation techniques and feedback alongside their academic appointments and planned, implemented and reflected on their own teaching units in their final theses.
The further education took place as part of the NQ further education series and the "Qualification for Teachers" certificate programme, which was developed by Dr Christiane Brokmann-Nooren and has met with a broad response since the early 1990s.
