What opportunities do students have to have the skills they have acquired in academic appointments or admission recognised? And how is this experience gained outside the university actually recognised?
From 19 January this year, a new service at the university, called PLAR-Service (PLAR = Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition), will provide advice and support to students with prior academic appointments on these questions. The weekly office hours take place on Thursdays between 16:00 and 17:00 (Building A12 [SSC], Room 2-214).
The new PLAR service is part of the PLARnet project, which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) and the University of Oldenburg.
The C3L, the Competence Centre for Credit Transfer, the Examinations Office and the Department for Study Affairs work closely together as part of this project.
Further information on credit transfer options and the PLAR service can be found here.
