Online lecture presents practice for institutional investors
Cryptocurrencies are on everyone's lips. Most people have heard about the "new gold" at the latest since Bitcoin's rally at the start of the year and the price capers caused by Tesla founder Elon Musk. But how do cryptocurrencies work? What is the blockchain all about and which players are involved? These and other questions will be answered by Maximilian Willer in an online lecture on Friday, 25 June, from 12.30 pm. The expert for market and interest rate risks at Hamburger Sparkasse will use a study to illustrate the impact that the addition of cryptocurrency has on the traditional portfolios of institutional investors. Prof Dr Peter Ruckdeschel will host the Lunch and Learn event. He teaches mathematics with a focus on applied statistics at the University of Oldenburg and is a lecturer on the part-time Master's programme in Risk Management for Financial Service Providers.
