Sports management is the topic of a new further education programme offered by the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg. The certificate programme is aimed primarily at employees of sports clubs, sports associations, fitness studios and event agencies, but also at career starters. The further education programme is predominantly online.

The content of the modular programme is geared towards the requirements of clubs, associations and agencies, which increasingly need qualified specialists. Interested parties can take the modules Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, National and International Sports Management, Sports Law and Personnel Management in Sport individually as university further education or together as a certificate programme. No university entrance qualification such as the Abitur is required. Participants can use the further education programme as an introduction to a part-time degree course: The internationally recognised certificate can be credited towards the Bachelor of Business Administration for Competitive Athletes at C3L, and some modules can also be credited towards the Bachelor of Business Administration in Medium-Sized Enterprises.
