Promoting the health of people in need of care in residential care - this is a task that the long-term care insurance funds will increasingly have to face in the future.
The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (vdek) is coordinating a major research and development project together with the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning, for which Prof. Dr Anke Hanft is responsible as scientific director and Anno Stockem as project leader. Prof Dr Martina Hasseler is responsible for scientific coordination. The Institute for Health and Nursing Science at the University of Halle is also involved in the project.
The aim of the project is to create a quality-assured basis for effective counselling management by the long-term care insurance funds in the inpatient care setting. To this end, specialist advisors for prevention and health promotion are to be thoroughly qualified and the specialist staff working in inpatient care facilities are to be familiarised with the topic. The first results of the project, which will run until September 2018, are expected in autumn 2017.
