North-west Germany is a regional focus for pilot projects for green hydrogen. Leading companies from sectors such as energy, industrial production, transport and services are involved. Public institutions are also preparing for this future field. In order to meet the demand for qualified specialists, the University of Oldenburg has developed the "Hydrogen for specialists and managers" training programme in 2022 in co-operation with Leibniz Universität Hannover and Fraunhofer IWES. The fourth round of the programme starts in August.
The city of Oldenburg is supporting the C3L project to consolidate and anchor the "Hydrogen for subjects and managers" further education programme in the region. This helps to ensure that the six-month further education programme can continue to be offered at an attractive, competitive price. The previous rhythm is also to be maintained. As the number of partners and alumni is constantly growing, the programme is to be consolidated and expanded by targeting them. In addition to regular dialogue with the partners, an annual alumni event is to be offered in an attractive environment. In this environment, Oldenburg can position itself as a key player in the energy transition and the qualification of skilled workers.
The target group includes potential participants, especially subjects and managers with a connection to hydrogen projects - both in administration and in companies from sectors such as conventional energy generation, renewable energies, the automotive industry and grid operation (electricity and gas). Further education is also relevant for municipal utilities and transport companies. The further training programme enjoys an excellent reputation in specialist circles. However, competitive pressure has increased significantly. Against this background, good networking is a decisive success factor for the expansion and quality assurance of the H2 training programme.
