Theodor Francksen, an Oldenburg resident who is still writing the city's history today, will be the subject of a seminar at the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg from 18 April. Geraldine Dudek, a long-time employee of the Oldenburg City Museums, will familiarise participants with the person and work of Francksen and focus on his life. Francksen, who died in 1914 at the age of 39, bequeathed his multifaceted collection and a large part of his fortune to the city of Oldenburg, which together with his villas form the nucleus of the city museum today.
