Blickwinkel lecture series ends with a highlight!
The Blickwinkel lecture series for the winter semester ended with an event for the eyes and ears. The final event last Thursday in the library hall was held by Prof. Dr Kadja Grönke from the Institute of Music, who gave a musical lecture on Petr Tchaikovsky's elective affinities together with the Berlin pianist Paul Mertens. The focus was on Tchaikovsky's collection of 18 piano pieces (18 morceaux pour piano op. 72), in which he looks back on the music of his childhood, youth and early professional years as a composer and pays homage to the beginnings of Russian piano music and Russian music education, without which he would not have become the composer we know him as today. The 90-minute lecture was a great mixture of theoretical content and wonderful piano music for the audience of almost 60 people.
The Blickwinkel lecture series will of course continue in the coming summer semester 2023. You can look forward to a total of seven lectures, which will once again come from the university. For example, from medicine, when we look at the surgery of tomorrow, psychology, when we look at the ageing of memory, medical ethics, bird migration research and ecological theology. You can find the exact schedule in our programme booklet or on our website from 1 March. Participation is possible both in person and digitally.
