Further education for (prospective) managers in the social sector

Leading and negotiating, managing conflicts and projects, getting fit in matters of personnel, finance and law. The next round of further education specifically for the health and social services sector starts in March

The third round of the academic further education programme "Management and Leadership in the Social Economy" will start in March 2020. The part-time programme is aimed at professionals with management responsibilities as well as prospective managers in the health and social care sector. The twelve-month further education programme is offered by the C3L - Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Oldenburg in co-operation with the Diakonisches Werk der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Oldenburg.

In eleven seminars and a final colloquium, basic leadership skills such as management and negotiation are taught in a practical way. Participants learn how to manage conflicts and projects and acquire skills in areas such as human resources, finance and law. This enables prospective managers of social organisations, for example, to master new challenges in their day-to-day work. The certificate can be recognised for the theoretical part of the training to become a care home manager and can be credited towards other courses. Short attendance phases at the university and online work phases make it possible to flexibly combine further education with family and academic appointments.

Registrations are still possible until 15 February 2020.
