Conflict management – finding constructive solutions

Intervene appropriately and moderate effectively

This skills training course starts by teaching the general principles of conflict in organisations and companies. It deals with typical situations in everyday working life and the meaning of conflicts. Different conflict constellations and typical forms of conflict in institutions are presented and analysed. Friedrich Glasl's conflict theory is explained as an analytical model.
Participants learn about conflict management methods and are able to select and apply appropriate forms of intervention for different situations. The repertoire of conflict management is expanded and the moderation of conflict discussions is practised. In the workshop, participants are expected to be prepared to work on a conflict case, from analysing it to intervention and prevention strategies in co-operation with other participants.

When the skills training programme begins, the learning materials will be made available via our learning platform, C3LLO, where they can be viewed at any time. The content of the learning materials forms the (knowledge) basis for the workshop, which takes place at the University of Oldenburg on the C3L campus. Following the workshop, a transfer task must be completed. The online phases before and after the workshop (input and transfer) are designed to be asynchronous, i.e. participants can organise their time freely within the given framework. For reading the learning materials, participating in the workshop and successfully completing the transfer task, you should estimate a total workload of around 60 hours, most of which can be flexibly distributed over the six-week period.
