Self-leadership – the art of leading yourself
Strategies for successful self-management
Remote work, flexible working hours and flat hierarchies - in the modern working world, the ability to manage oneself is becoming increasingly important. The skills training uses three key strategies to show how self-leadership works: behavioural approaches such as self-observation, goal setting and self-reward, cognitive strategies such as constructive thought patterns and positive self-talk, and intrinsic motivation. After a theoretical overview, the participants will use their own academic appointments to work out how self-leadership can be applied to specific situations. Interactive exercises, group work and individual feedback are also part of the programme of the face-to-face workshop.
When the skills training programme begins, the learning materials will be made available via our learning platform, C3LLO, where they can be viewed at any time. The content of the learning materials forms the (knowledge) basis for the workshop, which takes place at the University of Oldenburg on the C3L campus. Following the workshop, a transfer task must be completed. The online phases before and after the workshop (input and transfer) are designed to be asynchronous, i.e. participants can organise their time freely within the given framework. For reading the learning materials, participating in the workshop and successfully completing the transfer task, you should estimate a total workload of around 60 hours, most of which can be flexibly distributed over the six-week period.
