IT contract law

Analysing and drafting contracts for hardware and software

The module teaches how contracts for the production, transfer and maintenance of computer programs and IT systems can be drafted in a legally secure manner. How software is protected and how claims can be enforced. The spectrum ranges from software as a service and cloud computing to open source and customised software. The module covers the theory as well as methods and applications of IT contract law. Participants learn how to draft contracts and general terms and conditions. They are familiarised with the legal implications of EVB-IT contract types, outsourcing and application service providing, as well as provider and system contracts.
