Legal aspects of IT and internet compliance
Manage compliance with confidence
The programme combines three modules: data protection law, internet law and computer crime law. The further education programme is aimed at employees who, for example, are responsible for IT, the organisation’s website or an online shop, and who need to ensure compliance within their area of responsibility. It provides the expertise needed to apply the relevant legal provisions with confidence. The programme can be completed flexibly over one to three semesters and leads to the internationally recognised Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS). It comprises the following three modules:
Data protection law
The data protection law module teaches how to avoid breaches, how to protect personal data and how to ensure IT security. The legal, business and technical requirements for academic appointments are discussed.
Internet law
The Internet Law module provides students with the legal skills they need to confidently navigate this interdisciplinary subject. It deals with requirements ranging from provider labelling and conflict of laws to liability privileges. Aspects of procedural and litigation law are also addressed.
Computer criminal law
The Computer Criminal Law module deals with national, European and international computer and Internet criminal law regulations as well as procedural and criminal procedure aspects. The topics range from computer fraud to copyright offences and illegal content.
