SOUVER@N - Digital Teaching and Learning in Lower Saxony
Promoting confident digital teaching and learning - eight universities in Lower Saxony and ELAN e. V. have joined forces with this goal in order to sustainably strengthen digitalisation in university teaching. After more than four years of intensive cooperation , the SOUVER@N joint project came to an end on 31 December 2025. In the final phase of the project, which kicked off with a final general meeting in Oldenburg, the results were finalised and secured for the future.
Eight universities in Lower Saxony and ELAN e.V. collaborated on the SOUVER@N project for over four years, promoting sovereign digital teaching and learning at universities. The project ended on December 31, 2025, after an intense final phase that began with a general meeting in Oldenburg.
The University of Oldenburg played a central role in the project, particularly in the field of open educational resources (OER). In this area, for example, a collection of materials was developed for teachers to help them when planning digitally supported teaching and learning opportunities. The University of Oldenburg also contributed to the development of a collection of tools that provides an overview of digital tools university teaching. In the project podcast experts from the university offered insights into topics such as open source systems, digital feedback, and legal issues surrounding online exams. To this end, publications and a checklist for selecting tools that meet data protection requirements were developed.
The final project results are summarized on the project website and will be accessible until 2030. The project in Oldenburg was led by Isabel Müskens and Dr. Norbert Kleinefeld. The Souver@n project was funded by the STIL Foundation.
